Never underestimate the power of water!
Whether you are lacking energy, experiencing issues with dry skin, wrinkles or acne, or even if you are having trouble losing a few stubborn, excess pounds, you may not need to look further than your water faucet for a solution.
Water benefits your health in so many ways . . .
The truth is, no matter how well you eat or how much you exercise, if your body is lacking water, you will feel (and see) the ill effects. Water is an ongoing detoxifier that, if consumed in adequate amounts, may render more extreme measures of cleansing unnecessary (assuming you are eating a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and limiting, as much as possible, your daily exposure to the myriad of environmental toxins …)
How much water is enough?
At least 64 ounces of pure, filtered water is recommended for most, and that does not count caffeinated beverages, soda or juice. In fact, for every caffeinated beverage you consume, it’s a good practice to add 8 more oz of pure water to your regimen, since caffeine acts as a diuretic (makes you lose fluid). Also, the more active you are the more you need.
The “side effects” of drinking enough water . . .
Once your body becomes well-hydrated, you will begin to notice several changes in the way you look and feel – for one, the improved smoothness and overall condition of your skin. And as far as water’s relationship to weight loss is concerned, the obvious explanation is that if you fill up on calorie-free water, you won’t tend to eat as much. True, but the reasoning actually goes even deeper than that. You see, fat cells hold on to toxins in an attempt to protect us by preventing them from circulating freely through the blood stream. Taking in more water will help flush those toxins out, thus allowing the fat cells to dissolve more easily. One last, and very important “side effect” of taking in enough water – energy! A dehydrated body is a lethargic body, no matter how ideal the rest of your lifestyle may be. So, if you find yourself dragging at different periods throughout the day, instead of relying on a stimulant like caffeine, guzzle some water and see how you feel. Just remember, if you are dehydrated, it may take a day or two of replenishment to feel the full effects. So, drink on!! (water, that is!)
