et’s face it. Our feet take a beating in this face-paced world. Whether we spend most of the day standing or walking or even if we over-exercise, subjecting our feet to repeated stress, we’re bound to have occasional foot discomfort. The thing is, if we continue to over-stress our already aching feet, what began as a bit of soreness can develop into a condition known as plantar fasciitis, which, if we don’t finally give our feet a rest, can then develop into a bone spur.

Based on the last post, you might be thinking that you’re destined for immune troubles throughout life, especially if you were born via C-section! Not to worry – things begin to even out a bit following the first year of life when the composition of intestinal bacteria begins to resemble that of an adult. This, […]
We’ve had some beautiful spring weather here in PA this year. Just wet enough, warm enough and, many times, sunny enough to result in incredible growth of our plants and flowers. Unfortunately, the weeds have been doing quite well too. But before you wage a war on those weeds with chemical herbicides like Roundup or […]
On our quest to eat a healthy diet and spare our body a lot of extra work filtering out the junk, it isn’t always easy to recognize the dangerous ingredients in the foods we eat because they often sound okay. These nasty substances may even be present in so-called “natural” products that we take the […]
In my opinion, that’s exactly what the LIVER represents: a superhero. The liver protects us in the face of toxic danger. The liver doesn’t judge us. It doesn’t pick and choose when it will help us out based on whether we are knowingly abusing it or not. No, it’s there for us no matter what.
Any of you who know me personally are probably taking the title of this post to mean that I’m somehow very bored or restless. But no. This time I’m not referring to a mental state – I am actually climbing walls! It’s been incredible. For the past 6 months or so, I have been participating in […]
Once again it’s that time of year when the deer ticks are coming out in full force. Our warm winter here in the Northeast hasn’t helped things. It seems like these tiny creatures never even left from last year, and actually, they probably didn’t, although we don’t see them as much in the winter. They […]
Whether you are lacking energy, experiencing issues with dry skin, wrinkles or acne, or even if you are having trouble losing a few stubborn, excess pounds, you may not need to look further than your water faucet for a solution.
I LOVE licorice! Problem is, the licorice that I’m talking about may very well not be the licorice that we all tend to think of when that word is mentioned! There’s no doubt that I am a big fan of the long, chewy red or black “licorice” candy. Mmm mmm. Who can’t resist that? But that’s not actually licorice.
The second ingredient that makes up 50% of Aspartame is Phenylalanine. Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, meaning that it is necessary for the proper function of the body, however the body itself can’t produce it. Instead it must be consumed in the diet. The body uses phenylalanine to build proteins and to make the […]
